Dragon Age 4, the fourth installment of BioWare’s critically acclaimed fantasy role-playing franchise, will not be launching this year.

That’s according to Battlefield leaker and industry insider Tom Henderson, who, according to a recent tweet, was told by a source that there is zero chance of Dragon Age 4 releasing in 2022. Henderson’s claim has since been corroborated by games journalist Jeff Grubb, who shared an article on VentureBeat explaining that Dragon Age fans could be waiting a year or more for the long-awaited title to drop.

To be honest, EA could destroy the entire DA franchise forever, I'm still I'll from previous installments.

I'm not a fan of the Dragon Age games. However, I'm hoping that EA/BioWare take their time and get it right. I'm tired of seeing these once great franchises go downhill. It would be nice to see a good sequel to one of these properties in modern times. DA has had a rockier path than Mass Effect has. Mass Effect they've only screwed up a little more than once with ME3 having a ****ty ending and ME:A simply being mediocre.

I'm in the minority about Dragon Age, I thought Origins was mediocre, but loved Dragon Age 2, which everybody hated. And I thought Inquisition was again a mediocre game more like a mmo repackaged as a single player title.

Regardless I was looking forward to this, as always: hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

At this point I think there are no developers or titles left that I'd look forward to without being cautious.

The story in Dragon age 2 was not so bad, the constant reuse of the same couple of maps is was broke the immersion and as such the game.

Also inquisition was not bad, but should have used a different IP for that one and made the zones feel more consistent, like DA2 the game was rushed out the door when it could have used another year or 2 of development.

It was the same as Mass Effect, that reused tons of maps as well. Sure you could argue that in mass effect those were prefabs, but gameplay wise that didn't change the fact that you had to clear the same 3 rooms dozens of times as part of different missions.

Inqusition was a grindfest, with tons of fetchquests and literally finding rocks and hacking them up. And it had utterly terrible combat, the only usable class being mage, as any close combat was hopelessly bad in it. And they removed all the squad strategy management that was good and instead added that you needed to constantly upgrade the squad equipment one by one using an interface that made skyrim look like a pc master race ui.

And don't even get me started on the dragon fights which literally took 30 minutes of boring chipping away at them. And the game tended to crash in the 29th minute. Brrr, I still get ptsd when I think of inquisition.
