Fallout: New Vegas, one of the most beloved Fallout titles of all time, may finally be getting its long-deserved sequel, according to the latest rumors shared by VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb.



According to the insider’s sources, Microsoft has been in very early discussions with Obsidian Entertainment about developing Fallout: New Vegas 2. Obsidian is the studio that was responsible for the original 2010 game, as well as other classic RPGs such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and Neverwinter Nights 2.



Microsoft acquired Obsidian in November 2018. Bethesda Game Studios, the developer behind the Fallout games, also joined Xbox Game Studios following Microsoft’s acquisition of parent company ZeniMax Media for $7.5 billion in 2021.

Yar, exactly. Just give Obsidian access to the IP and let them decide which part of the world they want to make a Fallout game about.

With today's climate could you imagine a fallout Berlin or fallout Japan. Actually fallout Japan could be really cool. Even bring in some vaults styled after ancient temples. Stuff like that would be kinda awesome.
