One of the criticisms of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake is that it only covers the opening portions of the game set in the industrial metropolis of Midgar, but fans could be getting their first glimpses at how the second part of game will reinvent other iconic locations from the original 1997 RPG relatively soon.
The possibility stems from Yoshinori Kitase, producer of FFVII Remake (and the director of the 1997 original), who confirmed during a livestream today that his team is planning to reveal the next chapter of the remake later this year. That would make a lot of sense, as this year happens to be Final Fantasy VII’s 25th anniversary.
