Kinda follows the Windows thing for me - nearly every other one I love

1-5 are all kinda the same to me tbh - I did play through and beat them all, but being the odler 2D JRPG, they kinda blended together
6- nice (although I still haven't beaten it -- still a 2D JRPG, but the story writing really opened up and became it's own starting here)
7 - nice (has it's flaws, but a classic regardless)
8 - bleh
9 - nice (liked the story and vibe of this one)
10 (parts 1/2) - ok / meh
11 - nice (MMO, didn't play too long on this one)
12 - meh (liked the gambit system, but apart from that the game doesn't grab me)
13 (parts 1/2/3) - ok / meh / double-meh
14 - nice (MMO, several hundred hours here)
15 -meh (haven't been able to play all the way through, the combat bothers me)

So if the pattern holds, it should stand out to be a good one.

I hope so, me too I had issues with the combat in 15, small wonder I finished it.
