Officials in France have banned government workers from using anglicised gamer words in its latest effort at preserving the French language, something that the country holds in very high regard and continues to maintain throughout its rich history from being debased by foreign lingo.

The french do this kind of stuff all the time.

They hate loan words and insist that just about everything in common use in france is made up of traditionally French root words. I believe they do the same thing in Iceland.
 
Well they also hate people talking foreign languages, so at least they are consistently awful.
