Does God of War, a game that’s already been critically acclaimed for the masterful way in which it conveys its story through compelling combat and rich cinematics, really require a live-action TV adaptation? Apparently so, as Deadline is reporting that Amazon Studios has begun negotiating exactly that for its streaming service, Prime Video.
Who will play Kratos? Will it be based on the new God of War, or the older games in which Kratos was a blood-thirsty maniac who went around butchering numerous gods? Nobody seems to know the answer to those questions yet, but it might be a very good idea to keep expectations low, as Amazon Studios is no stranger to supporting horrendous adaptations of treasured series (e.g., Wheel of Time) despite the incredible capital that it has at its disposal.
