Google Stadia Reportedly Canceled Plans for an Episodic Horror Game by Kojima Productions

Google Stadia was reportedly in talks with Hideo Kojima about developing an episodic horror game for the streaming platform but backed out of the potentially lucrative deal ahead of its decision to escape from first-party game development entirely. The news comes from Video Games Chronicle, which published a report today revealing that Google’s decision to gut its internal development teams resulted in a wide range of canceled projects ranging from a Kojima Productions (Death Stranding) title to a new game from legendary Sega alumni Yu Suzuki (Out Run, Virtua Fighter). These also included a music game from Harmonix, the Boston-based studio behind Frequency and the Guitar Hero series.

That's because Google doesn't believe in it's own plataform.
White label should have been the to go, specially if their commitment was going to be so weak. Any idiot would have known that in this market, proving yourself takes time building trust takes time and contents takes time. Just because you are google and made a splash doesn't mean squat.
Its either that, or sink billions in contents have a reasonable plataform to play it with and give it away for ultra cheap for a long while with a long free trial, as that would speed up adoption, and will hopefully eventually retention ( even that takes work)
