Rumors of a GTA Remastered Trilogy comprising three of Rockstar’s most iconic Grand Theft Auto games have been making their way around social media for years now. GTA fans are finally beginning to get some solid indication that the project is real, however, and not only that—it could be coming much sooner than expected.



According to Kotaku’s sources, Rockstar Games is indeed developing a GTA Remastered Trilogy that includes remastered versions of its classic, PS2-era Grand Theft Auto titles: Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

What? GTA 1 and 2 (the top down 2d versions) aren't in here? Travesty. Those were the bomb back in 1998
 
I'm pretty sure this is a dying kotaku grasping for limelight. Sounds like utter nonsense. Unreal engine would be the worst fit for an open world driving game, especially considering that GTA was never on it. Had they said they are porting it to the GTA IV or V Engine, I might have believed it.

But the most laughable part is " original assets have been remodeled or redrawn in higher resolutions. These include the games’ user interfaces. " These old gtas barely had any UI, like drawing a new health bar and ammo counter is such a big deal, LOL.

Just imagine how large your view will be now with these massive monitors and super resolutions compared to back then.

What? The size of the monitor and resolution has no bearing on the viewpoint of the game.

If I'm playing the original GTA... I think it would be awesome to keep the size of everything the same and give higher resolutions a larger FOV. But that's in top down... if they make it FPS or 3rd person it won't matter.
