The Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro versions of Crysis Remastered will feature ray-traced effects. That seems like an impossible task for consoles that were released years ago (2017 and 2016, respectively), but Digital Foundry has shared a video proving that Crytek’s software-based ray-tracing implementation works.

It actually looks pretty good. What’s really interesting is that the Xbox One X is able to run Crysis Remastered with ray tracing enabled at 1080p at certain points. Obviously, it can’t pull this off at 60 FPS, but the fact that Crytek managed to get ray tracing running at all on a last-gen console is very cool.

It's still using programmable shaders, as far as I'm aware, so it's not real-time ray tracing. And that 1080p dynamic resolution looks like it's running at 720p or worse most of the time. The game, pardon my French, looks like bantha fodder.
