Horizon fans who haven’t added an M.2 SSD to their PlayStation 5 consoles yet may want to think about doing that, as the next-gen version of Aloy’s latest adventure will require a significant amount of free storage.

As revealed by PlayStation Game Size, an account that tracks the file sizes for upcoming PlayStation games, Horizon Forbidden West will require a whopping 86 GB of space on PS5, with the European version weighing in at an even larger 96 GB. This is nearly 15 percent of the PS5’s built-in 667 GB of usable storage.

Why is the european version so large? Are they forcing you to install all localizations? That would be dumb when we are already space constrained.

96 GB?! No problem. Just go out and purchase a 2TB NVMe that costs the same as the Digital PS5 or go BIG and purchase 4TB NVMe, and forget about it forever, that costs double than the Bluray PS5!

😏

Not an unusual size for a AAA game in the past few years. The original on PC is over 70GB.

Can you not uninstall on a PlayStation? I rarely play more than 2 games in parallel, and usually I play just 1 game for months on end (4 month on Diablo ii resurrected currently). Looks like on the stock storage, you could have 6 big games, more if you upgraded to a 1tb drive.

Yeah you can, but with the size of games reaching 100GB if you ever want to reinstall something it will take ages. It can get quite annoying especially on slower internet. Guess you should decide a day ahead that you want to play a game.

Can side load to external storage as well, you just don’t want to play from external drive (I don’t think PS5 titles will even let you, but you can on the PS4 you just wish you hadn’t)
