How is a noob like me supposed to replace a battery like that?

I don't have this predicament to deal with right now but just asking in case I encounter this crappy battery in future.

Looks like if you cut the heat shrink off, the leads will probably be tack welded to the battery... You can get (or make) conductive epoxy (often sold as "window defogger wire repair") to reconnect the leads to a new battery if you don't wanna splurge on the tack welder, then either re-heatshrink, or just wrap it with a bit of electrical tape.

Am I the only one here that thinks they could have saved money by using half as much wire lead?

It's actually not even a cheaper model. It's the MSI Unify-X Z890!
