IGN Capitalizes on E3 2020’s Cancellation with Its Own, Digital Event Called “Summer of Gaming”

E3 2020 may have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that void could be filled by IGN’s “Summer of Gaming” – a global, digital event that will comprise live broadcasts and other on-demand programming. Partners such as 2K, Square Enix, SEGA, Bandai Namco, Amazon, Google Stadia, Twitter, Devolver Digital, THQ Nordic, and more have already signed on to deliver content.









“With the next generation of console gaming kicking off later this year and gamers eager to learn more about what games they’ll be playing on their new hardware, our online event will be a key moment for publishers and developers to connect with the audience worldwide,” said IGN chief content and product officer Peer Schneider.

This is smart but I don't see why Penny Arcade with their PAX lineup of events didn't step in and fill this void rather than letting IGN execute like this to devalue their PAX brand.
