If you’re interested in purchasing Intel’s Core i9-9900KS but haven’t done so yet, it may already be too late. The “world’s best gaming processor” appears to have disappeared from major retailers.



Intel’s Core i9-9900KS was introduced in October 2019 as a limited-edition product, so its early EOL status isn’t all that surprising. Enthusiasts can still get the CPU from re-sellers on eBay, but they’ve already been marked up by as much as $1,300.

This isn't surprising. While the 9900K generally hits 5.0GHz all core, 5.1GHz is generally out of reach. The 9900KS can do 5.0GHz all core, and generally hit 5.1GHz or better. This means that they are the absolute best binned CPU's available. Intel was never going to be able to supply those long term.

Plus, it needs to make room for whatever is coming in Q2 2020.
 
Not surprised at this either. Most of the time they were out of stock and if they were in stock they were price gouged.
