Intel’s Upcoming Processors May Finally Support PCIe 4.0

Thanks to AMD and the introduction of its X570 chipset last summer, the concept of PCIe 4.0 support feels like old news already – but when are blue-team aficionados finally getting it? That could be soon, very soon. Multiple benchmark listings spotted on SiSoftware’s Official Live Ranker are showing that Intel’s Comet Lake-S successor, Rocket Lake – which could debut as early as late 2020 – will feature PCIe 4.0. Better late than never!



What’s interesting is that Intel’s 10th Gen Core processors and Z490 motherboards technically support PCIe 4.0, but it couldn’t be officialized due to a potential defect. Apparently, the chipset signal would exhibit a level of jitter that prevented it from meeting the full...
