More and more benchmarks that paint Intel’s upcoming “Alder-Lake-S” flagship processor in a positive light continue to hit the web. The latest comes from REHWK, who shared Cinebench numbers that suggest the Core i9-12900K will rank higher than AMD’s Ryzen 9 5950X in multi-core performance. The benchmarks also suggest that Intel’s new flagship will be faster than a Ryzen Threadripper 2990X, which might be genuinely amusing if it weren’t for the fact that this SKU came out years ago. That said, red team’s chip is a relatively monstrous part with 32 cores—exactly twice the amount of cores that Intel’s latest flagship has to work with.
