Intel shared a tweet this afternoon confirming that it’s hard at work on a new and faster CPU, one that’s likely destined to headline its family of 12th Gen Core processors.
This mysterious chip, which is presumably the Core i9-12900KS that’s been rumored, will be capable of reaching clocks as high as 5.5 GHz, Intel suggested in its tweet. The current Alder Lake flagship, the Core i9-12900K/KF, can boost up to 5.2 GHz courtesy of the company’s Turbo Boost Max technology.
