So long, Coffee Lake-S. According to a Product Change Notification document published yesterday, Intel will be discontinuing its 8th-generation processor lineup this year, with final shipments going out on June 4, 2021. These EOLed chips include the Core i7-8700K (Q4 2017’s 3.7 GHz flagship), all the way down to the 3.1 GHz Celeron G4900. Here’s the complete list of everything that’s going into the retirement home.

Also enough of the effin lakes. I guess it was chosen precisely because they knew they would do the same chip over and over and over and over again for the next 20 years after AMD died according to plan... So they needed something that would be very numerous but sounded kind of big... Cities wouldn't cut it, they would have run out by now... Streets are just a little streets... So lakes! Thats it, they can get 20 years worth of related codenames as they make the same crap over and over slightly changed.
