With flop after flop, you’d think that Hollywood would consider giving up on video game movies, but no, we’re getting another! Deadline has learned that Rico Rodriguez is coming to the silver screen courtesy of director Michael Dowse, who has signed on to direct an adaptation of Avalanche Studios and Square Enix’s open-world, action-adventure franchise, Just Cause.

I can see this turning into another Mission: Impossible clone, and I wouldn't mind that at all... assuming it's done right.

Looking at the filmographies of both the director and star actor does not inspire confidence. The actor is at least young, so his acting repertoire could be more fully explored in a movie like this. The writer is the only reason I'm not completely writing this off at this point, but Hollywood still can't get video game adaptations right.
 
Statically, movies made from games have been lees than stellar
