Konami is releasing an “all-new” Castlevania game that could scratch the itch of longtime fans who have been yearning for a legitimate follow-up to classic titles such as Castlevania: Symphony of the Moon. There will be only one place to get it, however.



Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls is a new Castlevania title that Konami plans to launch exclusively on Apple Arcade. Starring a “persona of Alucard” called Genya Arikado, the game appears to feature 3D graphics but traditional 2D platforming gameplay, as well as the artwork of renowned Castlevania artist Ayami Kojima.



Castelvania: Grimoire of Souls even features music by Michiru Yamane. Yamane is the Japanese video game composer and pianist responsible for many classic Castlevania soundtracks, such as 1997’s Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and 2002’s Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance...

Well, if this is exclusive to Apple Arcade (whatever that is) then Konami can keep it. I won't give Apple money for anything.
 
Apple Arcade is ... lackluster. That's putting it mildly.

It has some interesting titles, and a current gen iPad/Macbook has enough muscle to run some decent looking graphics. But not nearly enough meat on that bone to justify a subscription, and there is the odd disconnect between iOS and TVOS and OS X that, in non-Apple fashion, they haven't quite figured out.
