One of the recurring complaints that Windows 11 users (or beta testers, as some critics have been calling them) have had regarding Microsoft’s new operating system is poor performance in the new File Explorer, which features a cleaner interface and design thanks to the Windows UI Library (WinUI) but slower, laggier navigation versus its Windows 10 counterpart.
This issue has been fixed to some degree, according to the changelog for the latest build of Windows 11 released last week, which includes a bullet point suggesting improved performance while browsing and selecting files in the new File Explorer. Windows 11 Build 22000.466 also includes plenty of welcome fixes for other issues, such as select image editors not rendering colors correctly on HDR displays and VPN profiles disappearing.
