From LG’s 42-inch OLED TV to Samsung and Alienware’s upcoming QD-OLED gaming monitors, the options are beginning to pile on for gamers who are interested in making the switch this year to one of today’s premiere display technologies.
The latest comes from home entertainment journalist Steve May, who tweeted yesterday that LG will be releasing a new 48-inch OLED gaming monitor under its gaming-oriented UltraGear brand. Users can expect DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1 connectivity, an anti-reflective screen, as well “understated” branding in the form of a big UltraGear logo on the back of the display.
LG currently sells two OLED monitors, the 26.5 and 32-inch UltraFine OLED Pro, but neither are ideal for gaming purposes due to their 60 Hz refresh rate. The monitors also cost over $3,000, making them just as expensive as some of LG’s larger OLED...
