LG to Unveil New Transparent OLED Applications at CES 2021

In addition to new QNED Mini LED TVs, LG has announced that it will also share new Transparent OLED applications during January’s all-digital CES 2021 to demonstrate how the futuristic displays might be used in the real world. It isn’t clear whether the actual technology behind the panels has improved, but the Korean display giant has promised at least three unique setups: 1) a “Smart Bed” with a 55-inch Transparent OLED that rises from its frame, 2) a “Restaurant Zone” that teases the thrill of browsing sushi on a clear screen, and 3) a virtual train carriage “Metro Zone” with transparent OLED windows that allow travelers to not only enjoy the outside view, but information such as subway line maps, weather...
