MediaTek announced its new family of Pentonic Smart TVs on Friday. The displays are notable for leveraging the Pentonic 2000, a new all-in-one chip that not only supports 8K 120 Hz displays, but also 144 Hz for gaming PC hardware and next-gen consoles. It is the world’s first TV chip manufactured using TSMC’s N7 process.
