Menu bar of front page looks... fuzzy

I can't tell if it's my monitor, or something else. But yeah -- that, the logo up top, and the News Ticker all look like they have some soften / blur effect applied.
Everything else looks fairly sharp though. the grey bar on top, the headlines below the ticker, etc.
I don't know nearly enough about CSS to dig it out - I get lost in all this wordpress Luminous and Gradient stuff if I try to peek around in Dev mode.

It's probably a crap font selection 
I ended up wrestling with fonts pretty hard as I couldn't get some of them to change on command (as it turns out, the table of contents plugin was hosing it). So, I may not have cleaned up the rest of them after winning that battle... lemme see what I can do...
