"As of May 1, we have adjusted recommended retailer pricing for our consoles and controllers worldwide. We also expect to adjust the pricing of some of our new, first-party games starting this holiday season to $79.99."
So they are joining Nintendo there.

New prices for all 9th-gen Xboxes here, as well as accessories: https://cms-assets.xboxservices.com/assets/7b/41/7b41026e-952a-460f-ad96-fc73efdbbeae.pdf?n=Recommended Retail Pricing for Xbox Console and Controllers as of May 1 2025 (US).pdf
- The base controller is now $65.
- XBSX is now $600, good gawd! The one without optical drive is $550. Special edition 2TB one is $730!
- XBSS 1TB is $430, 512GB is $380.

I guess this is one way to gracefully exit the hardware business, while subtly pushing everyone to your subscription service

They didn’t even have the courtesy to roll this out with a refresh or anything. Had they done anything to the hardware, even a new color or a “slim” or something, they would have had the thin veil of an excuse. This is just a giant “F you guys, we are out” message

I guessss then the same goes for every other company that ups their pricing due to the tarriffs?

It would be convenient if this was due to tariffs… but I don’t think it is.

Not that I agree with them, but that’s an entirely different discussion for another place.
