Microsoft Officially Announces the Xbox Series S: 1440p/120 FPS Gaming for Only $299

Following this morning’s leak, Microsoft has gone ahead and published the world premiere reveal trailer for its other next-gen console, the Xbox Series S. The video confirms that the system will be released on November 10 for only $299. It also includes quite a bit of insight on its capabilities.



According to Microsoft, the Xbox Series S can play games at up to QHD resolution (1440p) and 120 frames per second. The all-digital console also flaunts DirectX ray tracing, as well as other shiny features such as variable rate shading and variable refresh rate. Here is the full press release announcing launch details. Pre-orders go live on September 22 and both consoles are launching November 10. Also announced is that EA Play will now be included in Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass for PC. The Game Pass for PC and Xbox App are exiting beta on September 17.
