Some good things never last. In a tweet last night, Microsoft revealed that it’d be raising the price of Xbox Game Pass for PC from $4.99 per month to $9.99 per month. The increased pricing is already going into effect next week (Thursday, September 17), but those of you who are already subscribed will pay the same rate through the next billing cycle.

Nobody likes pricing increases, but $9.99 per month still seems like a great deal for everything that Xbox Game Pass for PC offers (i.e., over 100 games, which includes huge hits such as Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Gears 5, Forza 4, and Microsoft Flight Simulator). We also learned yesterday that subscribers would be getting EA’s game subscription service...

Hehe, I just cancelled it a few days ago out of rage. I wouldn't keep it if they offered it for free. The windows store is still complete garbage. Creates hidden folders, doesn't ask which drive to install games on, downloads are slow as hell, and often fail.
I just downloaded halo master chief collection 76GB, took two days on this crap. And then when I wanted to launch one of the games in the collection it said it's not installed.

Not to mention that I lost a bunch of work because it started downloading it onto the system drive without asking and it didn't have enough free space.

So no, they'd have to pay me a wage to put up with this.

Completely agree, as I've had the same issues with the Store, myself. If I can avoid the Microsoft Store for games, I always will. Perhaps Microsoft can work out a deal with Steam to bring Game Pass there like EA did with EA Play. Halo Master Chief Collection works seamlessly with your Microsoft account, so I can't imagine any kind of hoops to jump through aside from possible revenue sharing.
