Following a series of disappointing updates that negatively affected game performance on Windows 10, Microsoft has begun rolling out an emergency fix for the OS that should resolve the decreased frame rates, video stuttering, flickering textures, and other strange issues that gamers began experiencing after installing KB5000842 and KB5001330. The fix, which is being released via Microsoft’s Known Issue Rollback (KIR) feature for quickly returning impacted devices back to productive use, should be applied to affected systems within 24 hours. NVIDIA had previously told gamers to uninstall the update(s) as a temporary measure for restoring game performance.
