Paramount Pictures has decided to postpone Tom Cruise’s next action-packed Mission: Impossible films due to COVID-19.



Mission: Impossible 7, which was previously meant to premiere on September 30, will now debut on July 14, 2023, while the eighth installment, Mission: Impossible 8, is now set for release on June 28, 2024, nearly a year after its originally planned date of July 7, 2023. If not for coronavirus, the seventh installment would have been released last year on July 23, 2021.



“After thoughtful consideration, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have decided to postpone the release dates for Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 in response to delays due to the ongoing pandemic,” the companies revealed in a joint statement shared by Variety.
