One of the PlayStation 5’s biggest selling points stems from its SSD, which enables drastically reduced loading times. It appears that Sony fans won’t have to wait until November to get a feel for how quickly older games will load on the next-gen console, however.

Naughty Dog has released a new patch for The Last of Us Remastered (version 1.11) that reduces its loading times by a staggering degree. According to a demonstration shared by ElAnalistaDeBits, 14 seconds is all it takes to load a new game or existing save. Previous versions of the game could take up to 2 minutes to load a level.

So if they can get these loading times on a PS4... why do you need a PS5?

This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the PS5 and is just a marked improvement on loading times...

Guys... this article... it's cliclbait! CUT IT OUT! BAD!

Yep unless there is a ps5 out in the wild for no reason, this is PS4.
So you CAN make loading times better if you put the time to do so, even with old tech.... whatdoyouknow!!! Wow, shocking!
Im betting you will see games with crap loading times in PS5 cause now it will be worse.. you can bet some developers will invest even less time and pay even less attention to loading times, cause you know, hardware "will" do it for them.

Sad but probably true

If I had to guess, the Remastered version originally was still loading assets the PS3 way. Off of a 2x Blu-ray, basically. The developers probably didn't bother to take advantage of the mandatory hard drive installation where you can now stream and cache assets in the background. They just left the old asset streaming code in there and called it good.
