Netflix and Sony Pictures Entertainment have agreed to a new licensing deal that will allow subscribers of the world’s most popular streaming service to enjoy upcoming blockbusters such as Morbius, Uncharted, Where the Crawdads Sing, and Bullet Train after they hit theaters. The pricey agreement, which will cost Netflix as much as $1 billion over the course of four years, not only grants the streamer an 18-month exclusive window for Sony films but a first-look deal for any of the studio’s direct-to-streaming titles. Select titles such as Spider-Man, Venom, Jumanji, and Bad Boys are also expected to join Netflix’s catalog as a part of the deal.
