Crytek has released a new trailer for Crysis Remastered that proves the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro are powerful enough to handle ray tracing. Normally, this wouldn’t be possible (neither of these consoles have specialized hardware, such as NVIDIA’s RTX Cores), but the geniuses behind CRYENGINE have figured out how to enable lifelike lighting and other cutting-edge effects via other means.

“…because CRYENGINE’s ray tracing solution is API and hardware agnostic, highly modifiable, and can be made very efficient, it will run on today’s consoles and current generation GPUs,” Crytek explained. “The technology also runs in real-time. Unlike RTX ray tracing, it’s not dependent on RTX cores, so...

As I said in the other thread: Looks terrible in the actual gameplay demo. It looks like it can barely hold 720p in the dynamic resolution and hold 30 FPS. There is no sharpening, so it looks muddy. And this is using programmable shader programs, meaning this is not real time ray tracing or path tracing. It is done in the pixel pipeline after the scene has been rendered.

Good Lord, somebody take that down. Doesn't seem to be anything to brag about. Yes you can ray trace in a commodore 64 too.
