New sub $1k build ideas

This is $800-1k for everything. Right now he is on a laptop and has only a mouse.

One of my nephews is asking for help piecing out a new, first time builder, system.

If he was closer I could give him a lot of crap but too far for it to be easily done.

I've specked my own systems many times, but never gave myself as much constraint on price, and havnt gone into without at least a few monitors, keyboards, etc.

His only concern being that it runs WOW well. Any thoughts on a good, inexpensive CPU/GPU/MoBo to Build around? That is in the class of current World of Warcraft?

For World of Warcraft, he'll want the CPU to be better than the video.

I'm trying to put together an AM5 build and I'm just not getting under the $1k budget, and I haven't even added the screen.

Even in an AM4 build I can't get under $1k... Best I came up with is $1138...

Youigjt get better bang for your buck going to the second hand market for video cards and such. A 4070 or 3080 from jawa as an example here is a sub 1k gaming PC.
