Nintendo hosted its third Nintendo Direct of the year today, and the company didn’t seem to disappoint.

The event included a handful of exciting trailers for upcoming Nintendo Switch titles such as Bayonetta 3, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, and a brand-new Kirby game called Kirby and the Forgotten Land, as well as the confirmation that N64 and Genesis games would be coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service in October as part of an expanded membership plan. I find it interesting... I wonder how they pulled off getting the Sega Genesis titles on here.

Imagine developing GameCube graphics/textures for today, Bayonetta 3, etc. just looks horrible, selling at a minimum MSRP $60+!

You just gotta love capitalism.

Cool that N64 and Genesis games will be on Switch, but having to pay a higher tier for Nintendo Online subscription is bullshit. The rumor I heard said it was gonna be Game Boy and N64 games, so surprised to see Genesis. In any case, stuff like this has less value for me, cuz I still own the original systems, I use emulators on PC, and I also have NES Classic, SNES Classic, and Genesis Mini (I modded all 3 of them to add more games).

I wonder how they pulled off getting the Sega Genesis titles on here.
Genesis/Mega Drive titles were on Virtual Console for Wii, Wii U, and I think 3DS, and a few Genesis game collections have come out on Nintendo systems before, so not strange to see a Nintendo system once again offering emulated Genesis games.

Bayo3 looks like a f*cking 7th-gen game. Pretty disappointed about that, but we've known for years that Bayo3 was in development on Switch, so it's not like we could've expected the game to look any better than it does.
