The Nintendo Switch 2, a sequel to the 2017 hybrid video game console that has been described by some of Nintendo's critics as being one of the company's worst-kept secrets ever, may be released as early as April 2025, according to a new financial report from Nacon that teases "the arrival" of the new system within the first half of the company's 2025/2026 fiscal year, a period of time that would comprise April to September 2025.

Worse kept secret? What are the specs? When it comes to consoles secrets are kept surprisingly well... All the turmoil is baseless speculation, usually quite far off.

The Switch couldn't match the 8th-gen consoles (PS4 and XB1), but it was at least more powerful than the 7th-gen ones (Xbox 360 and PS3, and I count Wii U although technically it's an 8th-gen console). I know Switch 2 won't match up to PS5 and XBSX, but it should hopefully be better than PS4 and XB1. But Switch 2 has its work cut out for it in this age of powerful handheld PCs.

Really mostly interested to see if they go back to nVidia for this and what specs get put on the SOC.

Nintendo has never been a hardware performance chasing outfit, just want to get a peek under the hood at what nVidia is cooking up because I know they are wanting to bring more ARM SOCs out to the general PC space
