NVIDIA confirmed in May 2021 that it would be halving the Ethereum hash rate of newly manufactured GeForce RTX 3080, RTX 3070, and RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards with a mining limiter as part of an attempt to get more GPUs into the hands of gamers.



That effort was largely futile, according to the thoughts of cryptocurrency miners that have been rounded up by PCMag, which include those from Teeter, a miner who owns a rig with about 95 GPUs that include some of NVIDIA’s LHR models. While NVIDIA’s mining limiter works as advertised, users such as Tweeter have suggested that green team should not have even bothered, as the GPUs are still good enough to provide nice profits and remain attractive for the majority of miners.

This will see surcharges to households with mining like power patterns in order to properly charge them for the impact on the power grids.

Of course this will lead to people with higher power usage that are not mining being penalized as well. And it will coincide with increased profits for power companies but for unrelated reasons of course.
 
Humbug, double talk. Of course the person who wants it removed says it's pointless. LOL, what did you expect?
The only thing he is proving is that he would sell his mother if he could gain just 1 cent on the deal. These people are the scum of earth.

If their profits come down just 1% it is already worth it. It would be better if it come down 100% but I'll take anything that can be wrestled from the selfish little weasels.
