Proton, Valve’s Wine-based compatibility layer that allows Linux users to play various Windows games via Steam Play, has received a new update that includes official support for NVIDIA DLSS. Support for green team’s deep learning super sampling technology was actually introduced in the previous update (6.3-7), but it is now no longer in an experimental phase. Note that this doesn’t mean that all Proton games now support NVIDIA DLSS; the performance-boosting feature can only be enabled in titles that have implemented it (e.g., Control, Red Dead Redemption 2).
