NVIDIA has shared the improvements of its soon-to-be-launched GeForce GTX 1660 and 1650 SUPER graphics cards, which were designed for gamers who haven't graduated past 1080p displays. Thanks to the addition of 14 Gbps GDDR6 VRAM, the 1660 and 1650 SUPER offer up to 1.5x and 2x better performance over previous models. The former launches today for $229, while the latter will be available Nov. 22 (no price was given).
Making [the GeForce GTX 1660] SUPER is the addition of 14 Gbps GDDR6 VRAM, which boosts peak memory bandwidth to 336 GB/s (a 75% improvement over the GeForce GTX 1660’s 8 Gbps 192 GB/s GDDR5 VRAM). In games, that accelerates your frame rates by up to 20%, giving you a smoother, more responsive experience, and the option to crank detail up even more.
