NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs Are Getting Cheaper While AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series GPUs Are Getting More Expensive in Germany

Things appear to be looking up for hardware enthusiasts in Germany who are still looking at acquiring an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics card, as the most recent retail price trends have revealed that Ampere GPUs seem to be steadily falling in price.



Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for AMD fans who still haven’t managed to get their hands on a Radeon RX 6000 Series GPU yet.



As indicated in an updated retail price trend chart shared by 3DCenter.org last week, pricing for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards has exhibited a welcome decrease of nearly 10 percent since July 4, but things are trending in the opposite direction for red team. Pricing for AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series GPUs has actually rose by 6 percent during that same time period.

Let me put this out there for anyone that really wants a 6800xt. I will trade you mine for a 3080ti. No price difference.

Not that I think one is better but I've lived with my 6800xt for over 5 months and I'd be willing to go green if going red is that important to you.

I would trade my 6700XT for a 3070ti or a 3080 too if you can’t get your hands on 3080ti to trade for a 6800XT .

I still can't understand AMD GPU economics. They just seem to deny the intuition of "worth". There was a period of time where HD7000-series did the same thing (remember the mining crazy and not being able to get a 78x0 or 79x0 card for about 18 months) - and then again with early Polaris cards. Both ultimately hit a crypto crash and then you could find the cards dirt cheap afterwards, but they just seem to go through these odd cycles that defy any logic.

I did ultimately get a 3080 (thanks to Auer's help), but I would have taken a 6800 with similar buildout for the same price -- the cards are similar on rasterization, and I honestly can't tell the difference with RT on or off in the one game I have with RT.

Except 6800's are going for 1.5x what I paid for the 3080, and while for my use I would be willing to go pretty much equal in price, a 6800 isn't worth more than a 3080 in my eyes, by any metric that I look at it.
