Hardwareluxx has shared a new stack of GeForce RTX 30 Series slides that were previously under NDA. They provide quite a bit of technical insight on the GA102 and GA104 GPUs, which power the GeForce RTX 3090/3080 and GeForce RTX 3070, respectively. But there’s also new benchmarks for those of us who just want to know how they compare to their Turing counterparts.
Let’s start with the new flagship, the GeForce RTX 3080. According to NVIDIA, we can expect up to twice the performance of its predecessor at 4K. That means 2160p/60 FPS should be a cakewalk for the Ampere-based card. Even with ray-tracing enabled, the GeForce RTX 3080 can purportedly run Control and Minecraft at up to 80 FPS in 4K. That’s...
