The Korea Economic Daily has learned that Samsung has managed to win a second contract to manufacture NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards. Considering those rumors of Samsung’s 8 nm yields being worse than expected and directly contributing to the lack of stock on the market, this is a pretty surprising development, but evidently, NVIDIA wants to avoid dealing with TSMC.

“Analysts said the contract is significant in that Samsung won the deal amid market talk that Nvidia’s new GPU has been in tight supply due to unsatisfactory 8 nm process yield rates at its foundry partner Samsung, raising speculation that the US company may award the contract to Taiwan Semiconductor...

Not like you can just jump from Samsung to TSMC without doing a lot of work... so yeah, of course they renewed the contract. It was either that, or they would just stop making this version (which would come as an announcement of new Ti editions or 4K cards rolled out on some other Foundry/Process node).

I'd love to know how many cards have been shipped from both companies.

All I have to go off of is -
3dmark has duplicate submissions and not everyone uses it but Time Spy
over 230,000 submissions for 3080s
over 115,000 for 3090s
over 75,000 3070s
over 12,000 3060 Tis
vs
over 9,000 6800XTs
over 6,500 6800s
over 1,600 6900XTs

Hopefully this contract includes a production rate ramp up and more throughput while demand is not being met.
