NVIDIA Shares DLSS Benchmarks for Cyan’s Myst Remaster, Launching August 26

It was announced last week that Cyan’s remaster of its classic adventure title, Myst, would launch with support for AMD’s new FidelityFX Super Resolution technology for higher resolution and better performance. What’s cool is that GeForce RTX users will also have the option of using their own, AI-based alternative, NVIDIA DLSS.



NVIDIA shared some benchmarks today that show what Myst players with GeForce RTX hardware can expect when running the game with green team’s deep learning super sampling technology enabled. It appears that DLSS “Performance Mode” will allow all GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs to run the game at over 60 FPS in 4K resolution.



NVIDIA DLSS also offers very nice performance benefits for Myst players with VR headsets. The classic puzzle game can be played at 4864 x 2448 while maintaining 90 FPS on the Oculus Quest 2 with a GeForce RTX 3080, as opposed to...

Yay! refreshing static images very fast.
I never played mist, but I did play plenty of games of the genre. A lot of the excitement for playing was for the leap in technology.
 
I could go for a heroe's quest game. But those old games like that will never come back really. They would become 3d games with options pre selected or spelled out. No longer a text engagement like they were in the past.
