Obsidian Entertainment has confirmed that it is working on a sequel to its 2019 sci-fi action RPG, The Outer Worlds. While little is known about The Outer Worlds 2 at the moment beyond the visuals teased in its announcement trailer, Obsidian did promise during today’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase that its sequel will feature both a new solar system and new crew. The Outer Worlds 2 will also presumably comprise a lengthier adventure based on the core criticism that’s been levied at the original.

The […] big news from Obsidian today is the announcement of The Outer Worlds 2! Taking place in a new star system with a new crew, we are excited to bring everyone back to The Outer Worlds franchise. And, fans of The Outer Worlds should always remember – It’s not the best choice. It’s Spacer’s Choice.

Hopefully I can play through this one for $1 with a XBGP deal as well

Same right?

Though the first one was certainly a worthy entry. Need to give it another playthrough!

(when I get another video card)

Still need to play this one. I got it from Epic games I think. never really invested myself into it.

I played the first one on and off for a bit, did not realy grab me, for some reason I'm having a hard time with FPS RPG's

Since we know this won't be Epic exclusive, I'll see if I can get 1&2 in a bundle when this comes out.

The best thing about it is "new crew" nobody was really that memorable in the first game.

I forgot all about Outer Worlds.... I kinda got bored half way and abandoned it. I remember not liking the combat so much.

Wow, that was quick.

It wasn't a bad game, I enjoyed it, but I agree with the criticism that it was a little short.

At some point I wish they'd make games in this style, Single Player FPS with RPG elements, but dispense with all the goofy unrealistic ****. I want titles like this that are gritty and realistic.

I enjoyed Outer Worlds, but do agree it felt short and 'rushed' - more proof of concept than a full Obsidian RPG tbh. I'm hoping with a AAA budget behind it, the sequel will become a classic.

I wonder with the Bethesda acquisition, they'll just piggy back Starfield's space mechanics for the Outer Worlds 2.
