Earlier this week, Taiwanese overclocker Bianbao managed something pretty incredible: pushing a stick of Crucial’s Ballistix MAX memory to an eyeball-melting 6666.6 MHz. We’re not sure if demons flew out of the case when that happened, but this is now the top record for DDR4 SDRAM. If you don’t believe it, check out the HWBOT submission here.

Bianbao accomplished this feat with an ASUS ROG Strix B550-I Gaming and AMD Ryzen 7 4700GE “Renoir” APU. Temperature, naturally, was tamed with the help of liquid nitrogen.

It’s worth pointing out that Bianbao has the second-fastest DDR4 memory record, too. That achievement was 6,665.4 (just a smidgen under the current top...

Yeah but timings went from 18-22-22-42 to 31-63-63-63 . CAS 31? Does the drastic speed uptick counterbalance almost doubling the CAS?

No benchmarks here, just timing numbers and it took LN2 to get it there

Still cool to see the clock get there. These things are never practical

Well goes to show the insanity of shrinking the io die components. Lots to gain for zen3 and ddr5 Ill say.
