Overwatch 2 Rumored to Slip into 2023

Blizzard announced Overwatch 2 in November 2019, a sequel to its 2016 team-based multiplayer shooter that rose to popularity thanks to its ease of entry and colorful roster of anime-inspired characters called “heroes,” all of which feature unique abilities. It may be well over a year before anyone will be able to play the game, however.



According to Overwatch streamer MetrW’s sources, Overwatch 2’s development is moving at much too slow of a pace for it to achieve a 2022 release date. The implication is that Overwatch 2 won’t be available until 2023 at the earliest.



This is a bit of problem for Overwatch players who have continued to support the game and not just those who are merely impatient, as the franchise’s developers have reportedly dropped most support for the original 2016 game so they can focus their efforts entirely on the sequel...
