Petition for Days Gone 2 Exceeds 80,000 Signatures

We recently learned that Sony Interactive Entertainment had turned down Bend Studio’s plans for developing a sequel to its 2019 action-adventure survival horror game, Days Gone. An increasing number of Days Gone fans are now voicing their discontent at the cancellation by taking to change.org and signing a petition to get PlayStation executives to change their mind and approve a sequel. While most of this is probably going to fall on deaf ears, it does show that there is genuine interest in the franchise and spells well for the upcoming PC port releasing on May 18—over 80,000 have signed the petition thus far since its inception two weeks ago.

Yeah, you could have 100,000 signatures and Sony might still turn it down. It's obvious the first game wasn't a run away hit that would guarantee a sequel. 80,000 signatures doesn't guarantee a return on investment. 100,000 would only amount to about $6,000,000 in sales at $60 a game. Hardly enough to guarantee recouping development costs.

They get hundreds of thousands or even a million plus signatures, and Sony would potentially reconsider. Short of that, probably not.

They'd probably need at least 500k signatures to just re-open negotiations considering it sold around 4.5 million copies and that still wasn't enough for Sony

Why not? there are plenty of game series where later parts were better then the lacking originals, they seem to have sold a decent amount, problem might be more with the studio where iirc some issues leading to delays etc..

I'm open for a sequel if they can improve on the first part.

I found the game to be mediocre. Then that dev who recently told us all to eat a bag of d!cks if we weren't paying full launch price for their games, leaves a bitter taste.
