PlayStation 5 Gets a New Software Update for Improved System Performance

Sony has released a new system software update for its PlayStation 5 consoles. According to the official patch notes, the 21.02-04.50.00 update improves system performance. That’s it; there doesn’t appear to be any other notable changes.



The last major update (i.e., one that added new features) was 21.02-04.00.00. Released in September, the update officially unlocked the PS5’s M.2 SSD slot for storage expansion, among other benefits such as 3D audio through TV speakers.



PS5 users should see a notification for the new system software update when they turn on their systems. Otherwise, they can install it manually by grabbing the update file here...
