XboxEra’s Nick “Shpeshal_Nick” Baker shared rumors a few months back suggesting that id Software was developing a new Quake title in collaboration with Wolfenstein studio MachineGames. There appears to some major truth to that.
As spotted by XboxEra before it was taken down, Bethesda shared a schedule for its upcoming Quakecon event that confirmed the Quake franchise would be making its grand return courtesy of MachineGames. Jerk Gustafsson, one of the studio’s founders, will be discussing a “revitalized edition” of the game during a “Let’s talk Quake” event regarding the series’ iconic legacy.
