Intel’s lineups of Core processors traditionally include “KF” and “K” models that feature non-functioning and functioning iGPUs, respectively. According to a new report from Igor Wallossek, Intel fans who are looking to upgrade to one of the company’s new 12th Gen Core “Alder Lake” chips will only be able to choose between high-end “K” or “KF” models at launch; there will not be any standard SKUs (i.e., Core i9-12900) available until next year. Wallossek’s sources didn’t seem to clarify why that is, but the first Alder Lake desktop CPUs will purportedly be available as early as October 25, 2021. Wallossek also corroborated recent reports suggesting that motherboard and PSU manufacturers are hesitant to adopt Intel’s new ATX12VO standard, which aims to reduce idle desktop power consumption...
