We’ve heard plenty of rumors about a faster Switch console, but it could be more powerful than anyone might’ve imagined. According to a new Bloomberg report pertaining to increased Switch production, Nintendo has been urging its developers to make their games 4K ready. Obviously, this implies that the Japanese gaming giant is readying new hardware that’s capable of 2160p output.
It’s unclear whether the system will actually be strong enough to run games natively at 4K, or if it will simply employ some form of upscaling (e.g., PlayStation 4 Pro’s checkerboard patterning) instead. Our money is on the latter, but in either case, Switch fans...
